Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 183.710

  • Agency: means any state board, commission, department, or division thereof, or officer authorized by law to make rules or to issue orders, except those in the legislative and judicial branches. See Oregon Statutes 183.310
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Rule: means any agency directive, standard, regulation or statement of general applicability that implements, interprets or prescribes law or policy, or describes the procedure or practice requirements of any agency. See Oregon Statutes 183.310

(1) ‘Interim committee’ means a committee of the Legislative Assembly that is scheduled to meet when the Legislative Assembly is not in session and that has subject-matter jurisdiction over the state agency that has adopted a rule, as set forth in the subject-matter jurisdiction list developed under ORS § 183.724.

(2) ‘Rule’ has the meaning given that term in ORS § 183.310.

(3) ‘State agency’ means an agency as defined in ORS § 183.310. [Formerly 171.705; 2009 c.81 § 1]

 

183.710 to 183.730 were enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but were not added to or made a part of ORS Chapter 183 or any series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
