(1) If the major source of revenue of a corporation is paid-in-capital and the primary purpose of the corporation is to support or oppose any candidate, measure or political party, and the corporation has made a contribution or an expenditure for that purpose, the corporation shall report to the Secretary of State the names, addresses and occupations of its shareholders and shall report the amount of paid-in-capital attributable to each shareholder.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 260.049

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • expenditure: includes the payment or furnishing of money or anything of value or the incurring or repayment of indebtedness or obligation by or on behalf of a candidate, political committee or person in consideration for any services, supplies, equipment or other thing of value performed or furnished for any reason, including support of or opposition to a candidate, political committee or measure, or for reducing the debt of a candidate for nomination or election to public office.   • Measure: includes any of the following submitted to the people for their approval or rejection at an election:

    (a) A proposed law. See Oregon Statutes 260.005

(2) The information required under subsection (1) of this section, including information on the nature and amount of all expenditures of money and in-kind contributions made by the corporation, shall be filed not later than seven calendar days after the contribution or expenditure is made.

(3) The secretary shall adopt by rule a form for the filing of the information required under this section. [1991 c.911 § 3; 2005 c.809 § 30]
