- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Board: means the governing body of any local unit of government. See Kansas Statutes 12-3502
- Local unit of government: means any county, city, township, or any other taxing subdivision of this state, or the board thereof, which has statutory power and authority to make levy of special assessment taxes for any purpose. See Kansas Statutes 12-3502
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
- Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
- road: include public bridges and may be construed to be equivalent to "county way" "county road" "common road" "state road" and "territorial road. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Secretary: means the secretary of administration. See Kansas Statutes 12-3502
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
