Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 17-1343

Upon the presentation to the board of county commissioners of the county in which such city and townships, or the greater portion thereof, are located of a petition signed by not less than sixty percent of the qualified electors of each of said townships or parts of said townships of said proposed district outside the limits of incorporated cities, to be determined by an enumeration taken and verified for this purpose by some qualified elector of said proposed district, it shall be the duty of said board of commissioners, at its next regular meeting to examine said petition and if they find that the same is regular and in due form as is herein provided, they shall enter an order in their proceedings establishing said cemetery district. Said petition shall be accompanied by a copy of a resolution passed by the governing body of a city within such district which now owns a cemetery, which resolution shall state that said city agrees to convey said cemetery to and for the use of the proposed cemetery district.
