The order of trial shall be:
(a) Opening statement of prosecution, unless waived;

- Accused person: means a person, corporation or other legal entity accused by a complaint of the violation of a county code or resolution. See Kansas Statutes 19-4708
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
(b) evidence by the prosecution;
(c) opening statement of accused person, unless waived;
(d) evidence by the accused person, unless waived;
(e) rebuttal evidence, unless waived; and
(f) closing arguments, unless waived.
