Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 42-368

  • General election: refers to the election required to be held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Such election shall be held within forty days after the day on which said commissioners shall have met to consider such petition. Notice of such election shall be published in the official paper of the county within which such district is located for three consecutive weeks, and be posted in at least five public places in said district at least three weeks prior to the date fixed for such election. That said election shall be conducted in the manner provided by the general election laws of the state of Kansas, and the returns shall be made to and canvassed by the board of county commissioners in the manner provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 42-364.
