Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 47-1101

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of buying, purchasing or otherwise receiving livestock from the driver of any auto truck or other motor vehicle shall be required to keep a record of the sale, purchase or receipt of said livestock. The record shall contain the name and post-office address of the driver of the truck or motor vehicle, the license tag thereof, and a description of the livestock. Such record shall be preserved for a period of two years from the date of sale and shall be available to all duly constituted peace officers of this state: Provided, That the provisions of this act are not intended to repeal or modify any of the provisions relating to community sales nor shall this act apply to sales or deliveries of livestock to any person or persons regularly engaged in the business and whose principal business is that of farming or livestock raising.
