The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
Notwithstanding Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-3731, the director of accounts and reports shall accept for payment from the secretary of health and environment any duly authorized claim for services even though such claim is not submitted or processed for payment within the fiscal year in which the service is rendered and whether or not the services were rendered prior to the effective date of this act, except that no claim filed more than six months after the time of service rendered shall be allowed or paid.
