- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Commission: means the state corporation commission. See Kansas Statutes 66-101a
Any action of the commission pursuant to Kan. Stat. Ann. § 66-1,163, and amendments thereto, is subject to review by the supreme court in accordance with the Kansas judicial review act. The supreme court, in its discretion, may require the appellant to file an appeal bond, conditioned on payment of all court costs incurred incidental to such appeal.
