Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (14) of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 74-4902 to the contrary, an employee who was born November 10, 1885, who commenced receiving benefits from the city of Topeka firemen’s pension and retirement fund in May, 1957, who was employed by a participating employer from September 1, 1952, to June 30, 1962, and who commenced receiving retirement benefits under the Kansas public employees retirement system on July 1, 1962, shall continue to receive such monthly retirement benefits from the Kansas public employees retirement system.
