The purpose of the Kansas venture capital company act is to facilitate the formation of private venture capital companies that meet generally accepted national standards for private venture capital companies, and that make equity investments in the creation and expansion of Kansas businesses which are job and wealth creating enterprises by granting tax credits against the Kansas income tax liability of taxpayers investing in such Kansas venture capital companies and taxpayers acquiring credits pursuant to transfers as provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-8304a.
