Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-8926

  • Authority: means the Kansas development finance authority created by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-8902
  • Board: means the board of trustees of Kansas City Kansas community college;

    (2) "foundation" means the Kansas multi-sport and recreation foundation;

    (3) "increment" means that amount of state and local sales tax revenue imposed pursuant to Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-8936

  • Board of directors: means the board of directors of the authority created by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-8902
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
  • real property: include lands, tenements and hereditaments, and all rights to them and interest in them, equitable as well as legal. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

(a) No later than 30 days prior to a meeting of the board of directors of the authority at which a redevelopment plan that contains the provisions authorized by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-8922, and amendments thereto, is to be considered by the authority, the secretary of the authority shall transmit a copy of the proposed redevelopment plan to be considered by the authority to the clerk, assessor and treasurer of the county in which the redevelopment district is located and to the governing bodies of the county and school district which levy taxes upon any property in the redevelopment district. A representative of each office or jurisdiction receiving a copy of the proposed redevelopment plan under this subsection shall have the right to be present and heard at the meeting of the board of directors of the authority at which the redevelopment plan is first considered by the authority.

(b) For any year in which taxes are to be paid to the redevelopment bond finance fund established under subsection (c)(2) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-8925, and amendments thereto, any increase in assessed valuation of taxable tangible real property within the redevelopment district in excess of an amount equal to the total assessed value of such real property on the date of the establishment of the redevelopment district shall not be considered by any taxing subdivision in computing any debt limitation or for any other purpose except for the levy of taxes and in determining the amount to be paid to such fund.

(c) The appraiser of any county in which a redevelopment district is authorized by the authority shall certify the amount of such increase in assessed valuation of real and personal property within the redevelopment district to the county clerk on or before July 1 of each year.
