(a) Oversight activities
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to diminish the oversight activities of the Committee on Education and Labor of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate with respect to any agreement entered into between the Secretary of Education and Gallaudet University, and the institution of higher education with which the Secretary has an agreement under part B of subchapter I.
(b) Construction of agreements
Terms Used In 20 USC 4359
- construction: includes construction and initial equipment of new buildings, and expansion, remodeling, and alteration of existing buildings and equipment therein, including architect's services, but excluding off-site improvements. See 20 USC 4351
- institution of higher education: means an educational institution in any State which (A) admits as regular students only individuals having a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education, or the recognized equivalent of such a certificate. See 20 USC 4351
- Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
- Secretary: means the Secretary of Education. See 20 USC 4351
- University: means Gallaudet University. See 20 USC 4351
The agreements described in subsection (a) of this section shall continue in effect, to the extent that such agreements are not inconsistent with this chapter.
