(1) Each Sexual Abuse Treatment Program shall function under the direction of a program coordinator who is licensed by the State of Florida under Chapter 490 or 491, F.S.; has at least one year of clinical experience in the field of child sexual abuse; and maintains at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year in child abuse or trauma, and at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year specific to sexual abuse. Each licensed professional working for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program will complete orientation training developed and provided by the Department.
(2) Sexual Abuse Treatment Program counseling staff must have at least a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other behavioral science; and a minimum of one year of clinical counseling experience, six months of which must have been in providing treatment to sexually abused children and their families; and maintains at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year in child abuse or trauma, and at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year specific to sexual abuse. Each Master’s or higher level counselor working for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program will complete orientation training developed and provided by the Department.
(3) Students actively seeking a Master’s or higher degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other behavioral science may provide Sexual Abuse Treatment Program services under the direct supervision of an individual meeting the requirements of a Sexual Abuse Treatment Program program coordinator; and maintains at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year in child abuse or trauma, and at least four hours of continuing education per state fiscal year specific to sexual abuse. Each student working for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program will complete orientation training developed and provided by the Department.
(4) All licensed program coordinators, Master’s or higher-level counselors, and student interns providing services for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program (SATP) must complete the SATP orientation training.
(5) All licensed program coordinators, Master’s or higher-level counselors, and student interns who are hired on or after June 1st within the state fiscal year, will have 60 days upon their hire date to complete their state fiscal year training requirement.

- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
