Unless the context requires otherwise, the following definitions govern the construction of this chapter:
(a) “New motor vehicle” means a new motor vehicle as defined in paragraph (2) of subdivision (e) of § 1793.22 of the Civil Code.

- Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs, unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Business and Professions Code 15
(b) “Manufacturer” means a new motor vehicle manufacturer, manufacturer branch, distributor, or distributor branch required to be licensed pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 11700) of Chapter 4 of Division 5 of the Vehicle Code.
(c) “Qualified third party dispute resolution process” means a third party dispute resolution process which operates in compliance with subdivision (d) of § 1793.22 of the Civil Code and this chapter and which has been certified by the department pursuant to this chapter.
