As used in this division, “employer” means:

(a) The State and every State agency.

Terms Used In California Labor Code 3300

  • Agency: means the Labor and Workforce Development Agency. See California Labor Code 18.5
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • County: includes "city and county. See California Labor Code 14
  • employer: means :

  • Person: means any person, association, organization, partnership, business trust, limited liability company, or corporation. See California Labor Code 18

(b) Each county, city, district, and all public and quasi public corporations and public agencies therein.

(c) Every person including any public service corporation, which has any natural person in service.

(d) The legal representative of any deceased employer.
