Pursuant to a resolution adopted by its governing board, a county or city may lend any of its available funds to any special district which will receive state funds pursuant to § 16272.7 of the Government Code or Section 35.5 of Chapter 332 of the Statutes of 1978. Such loan shall be repaid upon the receipt of such state funds and prior to any other obligation of the district.

  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • Special district: includes a county service area, a maintenance district or area, an improvement district or improvement zone, or any other zone or area formed for the purpose of designating an area within which a property tax rate will be levied to pay for a service or improvement benefitting that area.   • State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Government Code 18
