Terms Used In Alabama Code 35-16-2
- Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.

Annuity tables computed, compiled, printed, and published as provided in section annuity tables” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2020″ statecd=”AL” title=”35″>35-16-1 shall be received in all courts of this state as evidence of the facts therein stated, but nothing contained in this chapter shall affect the admissibility of other competent evidence when offered in a lawful and proper manner.
