Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 205 ILCS 645/2.05

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     “Foreign banking corporation” means a bank organized and operating under the laws of a country other than the United States of America and not directly or indirectly owned or controlled by United States citizens or by a corporation organized under the laws of the United States of America.
