- Extradition: The formal process of delivering an accused or convicted person from authorities in one state to authorities in another state.
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Any officer who shall deliver to the agent for extradition of the demanding state a person in his custody under the Governor’s warrant, in wilful disobedience to the last section, shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor.
