- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no public funds, including, but not limited to, funds appropriated for office allowances under Section 4, shall be paid to any person in exchange for his or her silence or inaction related to an allegation or investigation of sexual harassment, as defined in Section 5-65 of the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, committed or allegedly committed by a member of the General Assembly.
