Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 65 ILCS 105/1

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Heretofore: means any time previous to the day on which the statute takes effect; and the word "hereafter" at any time after such day. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.17
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Any city, town or village which has heretofore acquired or shall hereafter acquire control over any lands bordering upon any public waters in this state, and the riparian rights appurtenant thereto, may grant, convey or release any of such lands or rights for park purposes to any park commissioners, park board or board of park commissioners having control of any park within the territorial limits of such city, town or village, and may make agreements with any such park commissioners, park board or board of park commissioners for the reclamation by such park commissioners, park board or board of park commissioners for park purposes of submerged lands under the public waters adjacent to the lands controlled by such city, town or village: Provided, however, that no such park commissioners, park board or board of park commissioners, may grant, convey, lease or release any lands so acquired or the riparian rights appurtenant thereto to any private person or corporation.
