Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 820 ILCS 275/60
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The court shall treat a petition for a workplace protection restraining order as an expedited proceeding and may not transfer or otherwise decline to decide all or part of the petition. Nothing in this Section prevents the court from reserving issues if jurisdiction or notice requirements are not met.
