- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
The repeal or amendment of any Section or provision of this Article by Public Act 83-1440 shall not affect or impair any pensions, benefits, rights or credits accrued or in effect prior thereto.
