- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- oath: shall be deemed to include an affirmation, and the word "sworn" shall be construed to include the word "affirmed. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.12
If any township officer who is required by law to take the oath of office enters upon the duties of his or her office before taking the oath, he or she shall forfeit to the township the sum of $50.
