Any person who violates any of the provisions of Section 5-1, 7-1, or 7-8 of this Act is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor.
     Any person who violates Section 5-2 of this Act is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor, except that aggravated reckless operation of a watercraft is a Class 4 felony.

Under the Illinois Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:
