Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 573/5-25
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The State of Illinois may not regulate the actions of residents of the subject lands in any way that might directly interfere with the performance of a federal function. However, persons residing on the lands remain residents of the State of Illinois with all the rights, privileges, and obligations that attach to such residents.
