A county board may receive funds from the United States government under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383; the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, Public Law 101-625; and the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992, Public Law 102-550 and may disburse those funds and other county funds for community development and other housing program activities.
The powers granted by this Section shall not be exercised within the boundaries of any city, village or incorporated town unless the approval of the corporate authorities of such municipality is first obtained.
The powers granted by this Section are in addition to powers otherwise possessed by a county and shall not be construed as limitations of such other powers.

Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 55 ILCS 5/5-1093
- County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
- Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
- United States: may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
