Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 210 ILCS 47/3-404

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
     A request for a hearing made under Section 3-403 shall stay a transfer pending a hearing or appeal of the decision, unless a condition which would have allowed transfer or discharge in less than 21 days as described under paragraphs (a) and (b) of Section 3-402 develops in the interim.
