Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 225 ILCS 41/10-43
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The Department may issue a funeral director and embalmer license, without the required examination, to an applicant licensed by another state, territory, possession of the United States, or the District of Columbia, if (i) the licensing requirements of that licensing authority are, on the date of licensure, substantially equivalent to the requirements set forth under this Code and (ii) the applicant provides the Department with evidence of good standing from the licensing authority of that jurisdiction. An applicant under this Section shall pay all of the required fees.
