Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 605 ILCS 5/6-803

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
     For the purpose of making surveys and the determination of the amount of property necessary to be taken or damaged in connection with any township or district road project, the highway commissioner, his agents or employees, after notice to the owner, may enter upon the lands or waters of any person or corporation, but subject to responsibility for all damages that may be occasioned thereby.
