- Municipalities: has the meaning established in Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.27
All municipalities whose electors have approved the erection of a monument or memorial under “An Act to authorize cities, villages and incorporated towns having a population of less than one hundred thousand to erect monuments and memorials,” approved May 10, 1919, as amended, may continue to levy the tax thereby authorized as long as its levy would be authorized if the monument or memorial had been erected under the provisions of this Division 116.
