(1) A tribunal of this state shall apply Articles 1 to 6 of this chapter and, as applicable, Article 7 of this chapter, to a support proceeding involving:
(a) A foreign support order; (b) A foreign tribunal; or

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 407.5104

  • Foreign: when applied to a corporation, partnership, limited partnership, business trust, statutory trust, or limited liability company, includes all those incorporated or formed by authority of any other state. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010

(c) An obligee, obligor, or child residing in a foreign country.
(2) A tribunal of this state that is requested to recognize and enforce a support order on the basis of comity may apply the procedural and substantive provisions of Articles
1 to 6 of this chapter.
(3) Article 7 of this chapter applies only to a support proceeding under the Convention.
In such a proceeding, if a provision of Article 7 of this chapter is inconsistent with
Articles 1 to 6 of this chapter, Article 7 of this chapter controls.
