- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Employer: means any individual, partnership, corporation or association engaged in a business who has employees including the state and its political subdivisions. See N.Y. Public Health Law 4801
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Freedom of Information Act: A federal law that mandates that all the records created and kept by federal agencies in the executive branch of government must be open for public inspection and copying. The only exceptions are those records that fall into one of nine exempted categories listed in the statute. Source: OCC
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Toxic substance: means any substance which is listed in the latest printed edition of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances or has yielded positive evidence of acute or chronic health hazards in human, animal or other biological testing. - Workplace: means any location away from the home, permanent or temporary, where any employee performs any work-related duty in the course of his employment. See N.Y. Public Health Law 4801
