§ 3063. State emergency medical advisory committee. 1. The state emergency medical advisory committee, in addition to the powers and responsibilities described in section three thousand two-a of this chapter, shall advise the department and the commissioner regarding emergency medical care, and assist the department and the commissioner in the development, periodic revision, and application of appropriateness review standards and quality improvement guidelines for emergency medical care, emergency departments and emergency services, under articles twenty-eight and thirty of this chapter.

2. The commissioner shall designate an officer or employee of the department to assist the state emergency medical advisory committee in the performance of its duties under this section.
