§ 6227. Reference in provisions relating to retirement. Whenever the term "board of higher education of the city of New York" or "board of higher education of a city having a population of one million or more" is referred to or designated in any charter or administrative code or any other general, special or local law relating to pension or retirement systems, including but not limited to the New York city employees' retirement system, the New York city teachers' retirement system, the board of education retirement system or board of higher education optional retirement program, such reference or designation shall be deemed to refer to the corporate body of the city university of New York continued by this article. Whenever the provisions of such law require the city of New York to make payments to such pension or retirement systems or program on behalf of instructional and non-instructional staff of senior colleges of the city university of New York, such payments shall be made, with respect to employment on and after the effective date of this article, by the city university of New York.
