§ 4917. Hold harmless. A health care provider requesting an external appeal of a concurrent adverse determination, including when the health care provider requests an external appeal as the enrollee's designee, shall not pursue reimbursement from the enrollee for services determined not medically necessary by the external appeal agent, except to collect a copayment.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
