- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
A merchant who violates this chapter is liable to the consumer for:
(1) actual damages suffered by the consumer as a result of the violation;
(2) reasonable attorney’s fees; and
(3) court costs.
