Terms Used In Texas Family Code 65.152

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Justice: when applied to a magistrate, means justice of the peace. See Texas Government Code 312.011
  • Rule: includes regulation. See Texas Government Code 311.005

Rule 506, Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, applies to the appeal of an order of a truancy court to a juvenile court in the same manner as the rule applies to an appeal of a judgment of a justice court to a county court, except an appeal bond is not required.
