Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 829.102

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Written: includes any representation of words, letters, symbols, or figures. See Texas Government Code 311.005

Before a conversion plan takes effect, a converting exchange may amend or withdraw the plan by the affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the members of its board of directors or, if the exchange does not have a board of directors, by approval of the attorney in fact. The written consent of the commissioner is required for any amendment to a conversion plan adopted after the commissioner has approved the plan under § 829.106.
