The commission shall, in consultation with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Texas Education Agency, review the standardized assessment mechanism required under § 315.002(a)(7) and recommend any changes necessary to align the assessment with the assessments designated under § 51.334, Education Code, to allow for the proper placement of a student in an adult basic education course or to provide the student with the proper developmental or English as a second language coursework, as appropriate.
