Before the 21st day preceding the day on which a public sale is held under § 74.401, the comptroller shall publish notice of the sale in a newspaper of general circulation in Travis County or in the county where the sale is to be held. If the public sale is to be held on the Internet or by an online auction, the comptroller may post the notice on the comptroller’s own website before the seventh day preceding the date on which the sale or auction is held.
