(a) The commission and the commission’s office of inspector general shall jointly study the feasibility of increasing the use of technology to strengthen the detection and deterrence of fraud in Medicaid. The study must include the determination of the feasibility of using technology to verify a person‘s citizenship and eligibility for coverage.
(b) The commission shall implement any methods the commission and the commission’s office of inspector general determine are effective at strengthening fraud detection and deterrence.

- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
