- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
On application of the attorney general at the request of the department, the district court may issue a writ of mandamus ordering a person to comply with this chapter or an order under this chapter.
