Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 843.077

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

A foreign corporation may qualify for a certificate of authority under this chapter, including a certificate of authority for a single health care service plan, subject to the corporation’s:
(1) registration to engage in business in this state as a foreign corporation under the Texas Business Corporation Act; and
(2) compliance with this chapter and other applicable state laws.
