Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 1108.052
- Beneficiary: A person who is entitled to receive the benefits or proceeds of a will, trust, insurance policy, retirement plan, annuity, or other contract. Source: OCC
The exemptions provided by Section 1108.051 apply regardless of whether:
(1) the power to change the beneficiary is reserved to the insured; or
(2) the insured or the insured’s estate is a beneficiary.
