(a) The commissioners court may by written order require a depository to execute a new bond whenever the commissioners court considers it advisable or considers it necessary for the protection of the county.
(b) Except for an additional bond required under § 116.087, if a depository fails for any reason to file the required new bond within five days after the date the depository is served with a copy of the order, the commissioners court may select a new depository in the same manner as it would select a depository at the regular time.
