- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- in writing: includes any representation of words, letters, or figures, whether by writing, printing, or other means. See Texas Government Code 312.011
A contract executed under § 271.054 or 271.056 is not required to be in writing if the work to be performed under the contract:
(1) is legal services;
(2) is to be done by the regular salaried employees of the issuer; or
(3) is to be paid for as the work progresses.
