Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 601.042
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
An authority shall let a contract in the manner, to the extent practicable, provided by law for contracts of the municipality, except that if the estimated expense of a contract does not exceed $5,000, the contract may be entered into without public bidding.
