Terms Used In Texas Utilities Code 52.152

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Except as otherwise specifically provided by this title, the commission has only the following authority over a telecommunications utility subject to this subchapter:
(1) to enforce this title under Subchapter B, Chapter 15;
(2) to assert jurisdiction over a specific service under Subchapter E;
(3) to require co-carriage reciprocity; and
(4) to regulate condemnation and building access.
